Pastor Luke is originally from Altoona, PA. Although he grew up in a Christian family, Luke did not make a personal decision and follow the Lord until his college years at Penn State. After a time of drifting, the Holy Spirit led him to surrender to Christ as Lord and Savior and imparted to him a deep love of His Word.
Luke was led to preach at a small Salvation Army Church and eventually to minister at The Bowery Mission on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York. After a time, God called him back to Pennsylvania where he assisted in planting a church in State College. Luke had no idea what God had in store for him and his family, but was sure of his call as a pastor. Through the following years, Luke served as pastor at Bread of Life Baptist church and for five years, served as counselor at The Salvation Army.
God used all of these experiences to shape him to become more like Christ while preparing him to shepherd His church. As pastor of Calvary Chapel Cumberland, it is Luke’s joy to teach the Bible chapter by chapter, verse by verse, and it is his passion to see His people grow in the knowledge of Christ while being transformed into His image. Luke sees his role here as equipping the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12).
Luke is blessed to have by his side, his wife, Alexandra, whom he met while in college, and his three sons: Jesse, Michael, and Isaac. May Christ receive all the honor and glory through His church.
