At Calvary Chapel Cumberland, it is our desire to come alongside parents in the task of raising the next generation of passionate followers of Christ. We accomplish this in several ways. Since the parent is the first and most important teacher of their children, we want to provide parents with tools to help them successfully lead their children in the ways of the God on a daily basis. On Sunday mornings, children ages 6 months - 12 years old are invited to attend King's Kids, Calvary Chapel Cumberland's children's ministry during our 10:30 a.m. service. When you enter the church building, please take the stairs to your right and proceed to the children’s classrooms. A children’s ministry volunteer will greet you and sign your child in. Check in begins at 9:45. Children ages 6 months - 4 years old will be in the Little Ones room where they will play, color, sing Bible songs, and be told about Jesus’ love for them. Children in this room will also be offered a small portion of Cheerios and water for a snack. Children ages 5-12 years old will be using The Gospel Project curriculum. The Gospel Project is a chronological study through the Bible with a Christ connection in every lesson. Your child will learn every major story in the Bible along with essential doctrines of the Christian faith using storytelling, hands-on activities, games, and videos. The children will also memorize key Bible passages that are set to music, so they are fun and easy to remember. Each week your child will receive a Big Picture Card for you to use at home to remind your child of the truths they are learning.
Please Note: Children ages 0-6 months and/or nursing infants are welcome to remain with their caregivers either in the sanctuary or in the Little Ones room. The Little Ones room in equipped with a rocking chair, a Pack N Play, a changing table, and toys. A changing table and chairs for nursing can also be found in the woman’s bathroom.
The King's Kids children's ministry team looks forward to the opportunity to partner with parents in raising the next generation of young Christians in the ways of the Lord. Our goal is for children to continue to learn more about God's love, grace and forgiveness for them, in hopes they will desire a personal relationship with Him.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the children's ministry. We are excited about your interest in our children’s ministry and look forward to seeing you and your children this Sunday at worship.
