At Calvary Chapel Cumberland, it is our desire to come alongside parents in the task of raising the next generation of passionate followers of Christ. We accomplish this in several ways. Since the parent is the first and most important teacher of their children, we want to provide parents with tools to help them successfully lead their children in the ways of the God on a daily basis.
On Sunday mornings, children ages 6 months to 12 years old are invited to attend King's Kids, our children's ministry, during our 10:30 A.M. service. When you enter the church building, please take the stairs to your right and proceed to the children’s classrooms. A children’s ministry volunteer will greet you and your child. Check-in begins at 10:15.
Children ages 6 months to 4 years old will be in the Little Ones room where they will play, color, sing Bible songs, and hear a simple Bible story. Children in this room will also be offered a small portion of Cheerios or Goldfish crackers and water for a snack.
Children ages 5 to12 years old will be using The Gospel Project curriculum. The Gospel Project is a chronological study through the Bible with a Christ connection in every lesson. Your child will learn every major story in the Bible along with essential doctrines of the Christian faith using storytelling, hands-on activities, games, and videos. The children will also memorize key Bible passages that are set to music, so they are fun and easy to remember. Each week your child will receive a Big Picture Card for you to use at home to remind your child of the truths they are learning.
Please Note: Children ages 0 to 6 months old and/or nursing infants are welcome to remain with their caregivers either in the sanctuary or the Infants' Room adjacent to the sanctuary on the first floor. The Infants' Room is equipped with a live-stream video of the teaching. A changing table can be found in the women's bathroom.
The King's Kids children's ministry team looks forward to the opportunity to partner with parents in raising the next generation of young Christians in the ways of the Lord. Our goal is for children to continue to learn more about God's love, grace and forgiveness for them, in hopes they will desire a personal relationship with Him.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the children's ministry. We look forward to seeing you and your children this Sunday at worship.
