How it all started...
As you approach the church building, you will immediately notice that it does not look like a traditional church. In fact, the structure was once a milk processing plant and later was converted by another local church into a youth center. The building then stood unused for several years. The building was bought by the small Calvary Chapel Cumberland congregation in 2011 led by Pastor Rob Mahovich, and extensive interior remodeling was done. In 2016, the outside of the church was given a facelift with the cross and stonework where block windows once were.

Expanding the vision...
Pastor Aaron Mohler took over the shepherding of the church body in 2024 and has been committed to "simply teaching the Bible simply" since. He also has a passion for evangelism and reaching the lost. The Calvary Chapel Cumberland family is committed to it's new mission of "Preach. Teach. Reach. Repeat." Preach the Word. Teach the Disciples. Reach the Lost. Repeat the process.
Pastor Aaron Mohler
Born in Frederick, Maryland, raised in both Cumberland and Frederick, Aaron can claim both cities as his hometown. Restored from drug addiction and led to the Lord by a British Jail Chaplain when he was 26 years old, Aaron openly shares his testimony so others can hear of the transforming power of a relationship with Jesus and the study of God’s Word. In 2015, he married Meg whom he met singing worship songs at an open mic night at a coffee shop. The Mohler family felt the call of the Lord in 2018 to move to Cumberland to serve in the capacity of Worship Leader at Calvary Chapel Cumberland and they have been blessed to see the Lord move since. Meg currently serves Calvary Chapel Cumberland with her gifts in graphics and media as well as in the women's and children's ministry. Aaron and Meg are blessed with four boys: Cameron, Owen, Benjamin, and Hudson. The Mohler family is dedicated to serving the Lord with worship and prayer.
